She sat in her room listening to a man she considered a stranger scream at her baby brother for merely being alive. He was suppose to be babysitting because her mother was on call all night. And for the first time she trusted him to be alone with her children... although he was the father of the baby.
She finally got up and went into the baby's nursery to see him violetly shaking the child. She didn't know anything about babies but she knew shaking them couldn't be good.
"He didn't do anything... ya know? It's not his fault he's here. If you used a condom, he wouldn't be here. So it's kind of your fault." she said although her voice was laced with fear. He let of the baby, dropping him roughly onto the mattress in his crib and he turned to the teenage girl standing in the doorway.
"You are just like your mother, you know that?" he asked. She had no idea what that means. Was it a compliment because he was suppose to love her mother. "Too smart for your own good. Don't know when to keep your mouth shut."
"Um...okay." she answered, raising her brow in a signature Addison fashsion. Before she knew it he grabbed her and pushed himself against her....and that was when everything she thought she knew about life changed.

It had been a day just like any other. Her mother had gone into work early, leaving her with the baby. She was suppose to be in school. Didn’t her mother know that? Didn’t she care? She dedicated her entire life, her entire being to protecting everyone else’s children, but did she even care what happened to her own?
Did she care that this man that was suppose to love her, came into Amelia’s bedroom every night? Did her mother care that he forced her to do the things that her mother wouldn’t do? That her mother didn’t have time to do? Did she care that her daughter had been sick for the past two months straight?
Amelia’s hands trembled as she looked at the results of the home pregnancy test she had stolen from the corner store that morning. The answer was one that would change her life as she knew it forever.
Positive.
Later after the baby had awoken from his morning nap Amelia, too scared to do anything else, just needing her mother’s support, put the baby in the stroller and walked the 15 blocks to the Clinic.
“I need to talk to my mother please.” She told Dell. He took one look at the distressed look on Amelia’s face, and gently smiled at her.
“Your mother’s in a meeting, she said to hold all inturruptions.”
“Tell her it’s an emergency damn it!” She exclaimed and then blushed. “I’m sorry” She quickly said, this wasn’t like her. She wasn’t rude or cruel or mean to people she loved. Her mother had worked at this clinic her entire life. Dell was like the big brother she never wanted. She took a deep breath, and was about to go sit down and wait for Addison, as Addison walked out of the confrence room.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, her voice cold, uncaring.
“I…..I need to talk to you.” Amelia said, her voice low.
“Amelia I don’t have time for your bull shit today ok? I’m really busy I have patients booked back to back until 9 tonight so if you don’t mind, go home.” Addison said, she didn’t have time to play the good parent right now. There were people who were depending on her. She didn’t have the time for a dramatic pre-teen.

Amelia looked away from her mother for a second, she was heartbroken. She just need 2 minutes of this woman's time and she wasn't worthy enough to get it. She was suppose to be her mother, she was suppose to care a least slightly. But the woman standing in front of her had become merely a stranger through the years.
"Please, Mom." she begged, only to be ignored without even a slight responce. Her mother just sighed, grabbed a chart off the counter of Dell's desk and walked into her office where her patient was waiting for her.
"Wanna talk about it?" Dell asked, noticing the tears glicening in her eyes.
Amelia shook her head and answered. "Nope, don't wanna piss her off. She must be having a bad day, don't want to make it worse. I'll just go home and do something... I'll talk to her later." that was a lie. She knew that later meant never because her mother never had a second to spare for her the second she got home. The only thing on her mind was fucking her boyfriend who she had no idea was fucking her daughter while she wasn't around.
She got back home to see Derek waiting for her by the front door. "Where the fuck have you been? Haven't your mother and I made it clear that you're not suppose to leave the house?"
"Aiden had a really bad fever... I took to him see Cooper." she lied.
He looked at his son with contempt and then turned back to Amelia. "He looks fine.."
"Cause cooper gave him something to calm him down." she lied... it was something she did almost instinctivly without even thinking now.
He didn't question her any further, he pushed her into the house and locked her into her room with a crying baby until their mother would come home and deal with them.

Addison came home late from work, later than her usual nine and ten o clock. It was almost mindnight by the time she finally set foot into the house. To her supprise her daughter was sitting at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for her.
“What is it?” Addison asked.
“I need to talk to you mom, I need two seconds of your time, can’t you just for once think about someone other than your patients and give two seconds to your own fucking daughter?” Amelia asked tears falling down her eyes.
“Amelia since when do you talk to me like that?” Addison asked anger flashing in her eyes, showing in her voice. “Look I’ve had a really long day, I’m really tired, and I don’t have time to hold your hand and play patty cake right now.” Addison said trying to push past her daughter and get upstairs. Amelia stood up, blocking her.
“I need to talk to you.” She insisted, she closed her eyes, and stood strong. Prepared to feel the pain. Her mother usually ignored her, usually pretended that she didn’t exist, but there had been those few times, when she pushed her mother too far. That the pain had been so very welcome.
“Go to bed.” her mother warned, trying to push past her.
“No.” Amelia shouted.
“Have you lost your freaking mind?” Addison asked. “Get your ass up to bed before I show you what pain is .” She said in an angered tone, trying to remain patient and failing.
“I’m pregnant.” Amelia shouted. “There I said it , now go back to your busy life, go fuck your boyfriend.” She exclaimed as she turned to run up the stairs.
“Excuse me??!” Addison exclaimed. Catching her daughter by the arm and pulling her downwards, causing her to fall. “What the hell did you just say?”

Amelia picked herself up from the ground and tried to get up the stairs to go into her room. But her bother was blocking her way just as she had been doing. She had never seen her mother so upset... actually she had but she had never been the cause of it.
"Please leave me alone." she begged.
Addison gazed down into her daughters sobbing eyes and didn't do anything to console her. "You're pregnant! What the fuck?! What the fuck where you thinking?!" she screamed, Derel hearing her every word from the master bedroom upstairs. He knew that the baby was his, and it was obvious that Amelia hadn't told her yet. "If you don't get the fuck out of my face right now.. I might kill you." she went on to warn.
Amelia pulled her arm out of her mother's grasp and ran up the stairs and slammed the door shut, causing the baby in the nursery next door and start hysterically crying. Usually, she would have to go take care of him and sooth his tears away but their time she didn't. That baby had parents who were suppose to do that and she wasn't going to do anything she didn't have to tonight.
She heard her mother walking back and forth on the kitchen tile downstairs. She pulled her pillow over her head to drown out the sound. But heard her mother scream "Shut that fucking kid up before I kill it too!"
It...since when was her baby brother an it. Amelia know that Addison didn't enjoy her company since her father died ten years. She knew Addison wasn't too emotionally attached to her son but she had always pretend to care about him just a little. She would at least have the decency not to call him 'it'.
She didn't move. She didn't get up, she closed her eyes and forced herself to go to sleep while the baby went on crying.

Addison paced the floor back and forath. The sounds of her son crying echoing in her ears, the sounds of her daughter’s last words, and the look on her face as she ran up the stairs haunted her mind. Her daughter was pregnant. Her 13 year old little girl was pregnant.
“Amelia I swear if you don’t shut that child up-----” She threatned, but Derel came up behind her from somewhere. She didn’t hear him. She flinched when he touched her.
“Sorry baby I’m…..”
“Your just upset…” He consoled her.
“Exactly….” She whispered.
“The little whore…..look we can take care of this…..we can make this so it never happened Addison, we have options.” He said in a sly voice. “We don’t have to let this ruin you.” But what he meant to say is that they couldn’t let this ruin him. If Addison found out that he was the father of her daughters baby, well that would just ruin them and they couldn’t let that happen.
Upstairs Amelia lay crying on her bed. She had to do something…..She had to…didn’t she? Without thinking she quickly packed a small backpack with enough clothing for a week, put on her jacket, and slid silently out the window, unnoticed.
She had fallen asleep on the bench outside of the park. She had managed to get about five miles from her house before she had finally collapsed on the park bench. Her feet acheing and swollen. Seriously who else but a Forbs Montgomery runs away in 6 inch heals?
“Excuse me….” The officer gently prodded her. “You can’t sleep here…..aren’t you suppose to be in school young lady?” He asked her.

The next thing she knew she was sitting in a prison cell after having been arrested for truency. Everyone else in the cell was staring at her as if she was from a different planet.
"You a prostitute?" someone asked. She shook her head. "Then what the hell is a little snob like you in here for? Steal Daddy's car and he had to report it stolen to find you?"
"My Dad's dead." she replied harshly. "I got caught ditching school."
"Why did you ditch school?"
"Cause I wanted to okay?! I don't even answer to my mother, why do I have to answer you?!" she screamed just as a cop arrived to unlock the cell.
"Miss. Forbes Montgomery." he called, she got up to and walked out of the cell.
"Oooh Forbes Montgomery..." someone called from in back of her. "Fancy arragont spoiler brat name."
Amelia ignored it, although however it was was right. She followed the officer to the reception area where she saw her mother standing. She walked over slowly, surprised when her mother took her into her arms.
"You okay?" she asked. Amelia nodded relectuntly, not sure what else to do.
"I'm sorry, okay? I'm realllly sorry." she said ahead of time. Addison smiled, and it was an act that no one could see past.
"Don't be sorry. I'm just relieved that you're okay. That's all that matters right now." she answered and signed a release form before they left.
The entire trip home was spent in silence. Amelia was in too much shock to actually talk. She had never seen Addison being so maternal and caring and she didn't know what brought on the revelation.
They got home and Amelia noticed Aiden stapped in his carseat crying his eyes out by the door. Addison had obviously forgotten him there and that's when she realized that her mother didn't become motherly overnight... it was an act.

“What in the hell do you think you were doing?” Addison asked in an enraged tone as soon as she and her children had safely made their way inside, out of the earshot of nosey neighbors.
“I was just so tired.” Amelia exclaimed sitting the baby down in his playpen where she knew that he’d be safe.
“So you sneek out of the house in the middle fo the night and sleep on a park bench? What are you some kindave hobo? You’re a disgrace to the Montgomery name.” Addison exclaimed takeing the bottle of liquor from the kitchen and takeing a swig, not even bothering to pour it into a cup.
“No you’re a disgrace.” Amelia screamed. She turned to run to her room but her mother caught her by the arm.
“What did you say to me?” She asked, squeezing hard so Amelia couldn’t excape.

"You're hurting me." she whispered painfully looking up into her mother's eyes. Sure, Addson had ignored her most of her life but she had never don't anything to purposely hurt her daughter, at least not until now. There were days Amelia wondered what it would be like to have a mother that actually care just a little tiny bit. What it would be like to come home and not have to hide in her room to escape her family.
"Believe me, no one has ever died from what I'm doing to you right now..." she pushed her down onto the couch, placing her hands on her hips she let out a breath she was holding in. "You have two second to explain yourself before I start screaming loud enough to deafen you."
"Derel raped me... rapes me every chance he gets and I think I'm pregnant with his baby." she whispered in a tone that wasn't even loud enough for her to understand herself.
Addison didn't look at all moved by the explaination. It only drove her fury further. "You expect me to believe that?! If you were gonna give me a bull shit excuse you could at least make it believable!"
"What do you want from me?! I'm trying here, okay? I don't know to do! You don't give a fuck about anything... except work and fucking him. You don't care about me.. or Aiden. You don't give a shit about anything! So why is it you care all of a sudden... or is that just because 'I'm harming the Montgomery name'? Because I hate to break it to you, that legacy was lost the second your mother declared herself a lesbian and the day you fucked the bastard of a fag and got pregnant only to ignore yet another child...'Montgomery name'...that is the biggest bull shit of my life." she yelled back. Her harsh tone causing the baby to wake and erupt into tears, only adding onto the noise factor of the room.

“You don’t know a damn thing about my life.” Addison screamed at her daughter. Takeing another drink of the liquor. “How dare you pass judgement on me?” She screamed. Half of the bottle once previously full was now empty. She looked at her daughter, her anger raging.
“You have no right to talk to me that way, or to talk about your grandmother in that manner.!” Addison yelled. She had no clue why she was sticking up for Bizzy. Her abusive mother who never gave a damn about her, or her brother. Funny how history repeats itself, even when your too blind to see it.
“I got pregnant with you when I was 16 years old. I sacrifised my entire life so that I can give you everything that you have now. And what do I get? A selfish little bitch for a daughter.” Addison turned to walk out of the room, but then turned back when she felt the sharp blade of her daughters high heal shoe in her calf.
“You little shit.” Addison exclaimed. Examining the cut on her leg where her daughter had kicked her. Addison turned pushing her daughter down, hard onto the floor.
“Who in the hell do you think you are? Do you think your grown now? Think you’re a grown ass woman, that you can do whatever you please?” She asked cowering over the fragile teenager.
“Let me tell you something bitch. If you want to fight we can fight, but I’m much stronger than you’ll ever be. I always win…” Addison said. Waiting for her daughter to back down before things got worse….much worse.

"Do you realize what you're doing?" she asked. "I mean... are you that arrogant that you don't even realize it?" she elabortated, pulling herself up from the floor and backing away from her mother to increase the distance between them. Addison watched her silently. not interuppting her, not even moving. Amelia couldn't tell what was going on with her.
"Look, you're my mother and I have to respected you... and I'm greatful for everything you've worked to create for me. But you're turning into Bizzy. You are resentful of everything you gave up for me.. I get that but why are you taking your anger out on me?" she asked, as emotionalessly as she could. "I hate seeing you pissed off and I hate being the reason that you're pissed off... but it seems like that the only way to get a little attention rom you."
This was it, she was giving up. This wasn't a battle she was going to win anytime soon so she did the one logical things. Offered her mother a release. "I know you hate being a mother, I know you hate having kids... or at least having us as your kids. So why don't you just let me go? I'll take Aiden, and we'll leave. You'll never have to deal with us ever again. No matter overly dramatic teenager, no more crying baby. We don't need money or anything, just let me get out of here and spare both of us this misery."
She looked beside her, to seeing her brother still crying hysterically without anyone who cared enough to soothe him. Back when Amelia was a baby at least she had someone. At least her father cared while her mother was off persueing her educatin and making a life for herself. At least she had attention for the first 3 years of her life, Aiden didn't even have that.

Her daughters words sank in…. Instantly sobering her up. She sat down on the couch and gestured for her daughter to sit down next to her. Amelia looked at her in a hesitant way, and didn’t move for two or three minutes, but finally walked slowly over to the couch and sat down next to Addison.
“I need to talk to you about something.” Addison said, her voice quiet.
“What?” Amelia asked her voice confused. Her anger melting slightly.
“Do you remember how I always told you that your daddy was this amazing guy? Do you remember your Daddy who loved you, and bought you the pony and let you ride the rollar coster rides at the fair when I wouldn’t?” Addison asked and her daughter nodded. There was a time once, when Amelia was just a kid, when everyone was happy. Addison didn’t respect her to remember too much of this.
“I was raped. I got with your father after I found out I was pregnant, we were friends before, and he supported me through everything. But he’s not your father Amelia.” Addison said her voice quiet.
“I’m sorry.” she whispered. Her eyes cold. The baby was still crying, Addison needed a distractio. She walked over to the baby, picking him up, gently soothing him, until his tears fade and he falls asleep in her arms.

This was a side of her mother that she had never seen before. She had seen her hold and comfort countless babies, take care of them and give them everything she could but she'd never witnessed an actual moment as similar with her own kid.
She was still rattled with the news. Her father wasn't her father, all that was a lie. She wasn't any better than Aiden, her real father was a rapist too. If anything she was worse than him because at least Aiden knows his father is horrible, she had been living a lie her entire life.
"He...he's not my father?" she studdered, looking up at her mother who for the first time was holding her son without looking like she was going to suffocate him. She slowly shook her head only to see her daughter's head fall to hide the tears that would soon roll down her cheek. She got up slowly and went up to her room without another word. She was sure that Addison didn't care enough to follow her, she was sure that this lapse of actual maternal instinct would disappear soon and she should enjoy it while she could...but she coudn't sit there any longer and live the lie that is her wife.
"Amelia..." her mother called after her
"Don't..." she replied in a whispered. "It doesn't matter. That was the one good thing I had in my life and it wasn't even real."

Addison laid the sleeping baby down on his playpen. Giving him a little kiss. Smoothing the blankets over him. She realized that even though it was summertime she kept it awfully cold in the beach house.
“Amelia.” Addison called. She heard her daughters door shut, and after making care that the baby was ok she slowly walked up the stairs, giving her daughter a few minutes, but nothing more. She could hear her crying from the hallway. Slowly she walked into her daughters room and sat down on her bed. Supprised that she didn’t shout at her.
“Sweetheart.” She soothed. “I just wanted you to know the truth.” She whispered. “I don’t mean to be horrible. I’m sorry. You just…you just remind me so much of him. When you told me what Derel did I lost it. It took me back to that bad place where I never wanted to visit again.” She tried to explain. She gently rubbed her teenage daughters back.
“Remember your daddy. Remember the man who bought you icecream on Sundays, and the man who took you to the movies, and to the zoo to see the bears. The man who bought you that hideous pink polka dot dress that you wore for two straight weeks and refused to take it off. Remember the good Daddy that you had… Not the bad one.” Addie tried to make her daughter understand. Tried to make her daughter see that there is good in her life.

"That's why you hate me, right?" she asked slowly. "Cause you look at me and think of him because if I didn't exsist you wouldn't have that memory haunting you everyday of your life. That's why you don't care about me, that's why you ignore me as much as you possibly can... it makes sense." she admitted slowly, she couldn't say she didn't understand the feeling. She feared she'd do the same to her child, if she decided to keep it, the second she found out she was pregnant.
"What about Aiden? It's not like Derek raped you when you got pregnant with him. You're in love with him.. or so you claim. You let him screw you everynight, well almost every night. You knew there was a chance you could get pregnant. He isn't the result of some horrible night. He hasn't done anything and you still hate him.... you don't give a shit about him anymore than you do about me."
There was a long pause. Amelia was never able to talk to Addison like she was at that second, she could never express herself without getting screamed at or threatened. "What's wrong with you?" she asked. "Why are you all...Mommy-ish all of a sudden?" she asked because the curiousity was killing her. She wanted an answer to every single question because this was her one chance to get it. She wanted to know exactly what her life was before she went on another day living a lie.
She wanted nothing more than to crumble into her mother's arm at that second, but didn't. She maintained her composture because she wasn't planning on getting attached to the moment. She didn't want to get her hopes high only to be crushed when Addison's inner bitch took over her again.
